Snow in Bournemouth on BBC News

My photo of a "snowy night at Winton High Street in Bournemouth" was used on a slideshow of snow photos on BBC News, due to it being one of the coldest December mornings in 20 years.

Guardian Films

During a two week placement at Guardian Films I worked on improving the department's social media and online presence. I improved the Facebook and Twitter pages by adding three new tabs with information and embedded photos and videos to the Facebook page, and I redesigned and rebranded the Twitter page. I then set up the Facebook group to automatically post new videos to the group as soon as they are uploaded to the Guardian website. I also worked on the online marketing strategy for the launch of a new film on Afghanistan, gaining the film coverage on many websites and blogs including the Huffington Post.

The Guardian

I created an interactive map of the Edinburgh Tram System from scratch for the Guardian website during a placement with their online department. I researched and plotted the exact planned route for the tram system, inserted multimedia content from a variety of online sources, and marked potential traffic and road works.

Freshers Phone-In Show

I hosted and produced a one-off phone-in show for Freshers FM on Nerve* Radio in October 2010.

Red Bull X-Fighter Jams

A video report I shot, directed and edited on the Red Bull X-Fighter Jams in Brighton. I had the opportunity to film the video as part of the Red Bull Reporter project, which gives aspiring filmmakers and presenters the chance to film some of Red Bull's top sporting and music events. The film is currently on the Dave TV website, alongside their promotion of Dave's coverage of the worldwide X Fighters tour.

Leaving Town Alive

Documentary I co-produced as part of my documentary class at Ryerson University. I came up with the idea and researched the background information for the documentary, and organised the interviews and contacts for the film. I interviewed three refugees on their life in North Korea, escaping through China, and their current life living in Toronto. I then interviewed two experts on North Korea and Human Rights, filmed reconstructions of the escape, and co-edited the film with the rest of the production group.

Toronto Backpacker

Toronto Backpacker

An iPhone Web App I designed for backpackers and visitors to Toronto. Toronto Backpacker features Top 5 lists written by local Toronto residents about the top places to eat, drink and visit, plus an overview video guide of the city created specifically for the app. The app uses Google Maps to direct visitors to the locations, and can be installed directly onto the iPhone for easy access while visiting the city. The app was designed for my Independent Project class while studying at Ryerson University.

Top 10 things to do in Toronto

A travel video guide that shows you the top things to see and do in Toronto. I produced and directed the video, which is designed to be included in the Toronto Backpacker iPhone app I made as part of my Independent Project class at Ryerson University.
